Did you know that the Madonie Park is not only rich in biodiversity but is also a UNESCO Geopark? During this excursion, you will discover how natural caves were formed in the local rocks and why amazing sea fossils can be found on the top of the mountains.
Together with our English-speaking nature guide, you will walk through an itinerary that mixes woods and panoramic view points. Stops include two small caves that are easily accessible and a pit cave (we will remain on the edge, behind the security fence). The hike offers beautiful views over the lower part of the Madonie Mountains, Castelbuono, and the Thyrrenian coast.
You will meet your guide in Castelbuono (Province of Palermo) at 9 am.
If you aren’t sure where it is, don’t worry, as you will be provided with a map indicating the meeting point when you book. Each guest will then follow the guide in their own vehicle until the starting point of the trail (15 min). If you don’t have a car, please contact us.
