The excursion begins in the small streets of Gratteri, a lovely village of the Madonie where time seems to have stopped.
The trail offers beautiful views over the northern coast of Sicily. On clear days, we can see as far as Palermo and Monte Pellegrino.
Our first stop will be the ruins of Abbazia San Giorgio (Abbey). This fascinating place was abandoned some centuries ago for still mysterious reasons.
We will then go to explore the Grattara cave. It is a very interesting example of the local geology, and in particular of the karst phenomenon.
You will meet your guide in Gratteri (Province of Palermo) at 9:oo am. If you aren’t sure where this is, don’t worry, as you will be provided with a map indicating the meeting point when you book. You can always contact us to ask for more information. We do not drive you there.
Note: In the event of bad or dangerous weather conditions, the excursion may be cancelled.
